Language: The mother tongue of the majority of people in Rajasthan is Rajasthani. Some other languages used in Rajasthan are Sindhi, Gujarati and Punjabi.

People
Rajasthan has a mainly Rajasthani population. Hindus account for 88.8% of the population. Muslims make up 8.5%, Sikhs 1.4% and Jains 1.2% of the population. Rajasthan state is also populated by Sindhis, who came to Rajasthan from Sindh province (now in Pakistan) during the India-Pakistan separation in 1947.

Climate
Generally, the climate condition of Rajasthan is hot and dry and it can be divided into four seasons:

  • Summer: - This is the hottest season of Rajasthan that extends from April to June. The temperature in this season ranges from 32ºC to 45º C. The only place in Rajasthan that is a little cool in summers is the hill station, Mt Abu. However, the nights in Rajasthan are pretty cool, with the night temperature falling considerably.
  • Winters: - Extending from December to March is the winter season. The temperature ranges from 10º C to 27ºC.
  • Monsoon: - During the period of July to September, lies the monsoon. The temperature ranges from 35º C to 40º C. The state receives approximately 90% of its annual rainfall in this season only. It is the most humid season in Rajasthan.
  • Post Monsoon: - From October to November is the post monsoon season. The average maximum temperature ranges between 33º C to 38º C, and the minimum is between 18º C and 20º C.
