Nainital is famously known as Lakes district of Uttarakhand. It is a place of remarkable beauty, providing some unforgettable scenic views. Carrying an ambience of a perfect hill station, Nanital has attracted many tourists globally every year.
Nainital is situated in the state of Uttaranchal at an altitude of 1,938 meters above sea level. The most amazing landmark of Nanital is the Nani Lake, situated in the middle of town. At this pear shaped lake, one can witness a large crowd from various age groups, enjoying the cool evenings.
It is believed that Nanital is a part of many myths of India. Though the town was built in 1841, many references of the town have been made in the past.
In addition to the famous Nani Lake other places of interest at Nanital are Naina Devi Temple, the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, Governors House, Snow View, Tiffin top and Gurney House.
