Hotel Windamere

Mostly considered as the 'Jewel of the Raj,' Windamere hotel is a lavishly built structure, reflecting colonial architecture. Built in mid 19th- century, it was later in 1939 that this boarding house was converted to a hotel. The hotel enjoys quite ambience and surroundings.

The Windamere has its own set of artists who perform live concerts, outside the hotel. Even ghazal evenings can be arranged on request. "Christmas Week at Windamere", from December 18th to January 1st has been celebrated since 1939, without interruption at the hotel. Well known entertainers from London's famous West End theatre district make the Christmas celebration entertaining. Millennium Christmas celebrations in 1999 drew guests from 15 countries, including Brazil, Britain, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, South Africa, Thailand and Japan.
